What I’ll Remember About the Films of 1958: A Love Letter


The What I’ll Remember posts are an ongoing tradition; it’s a logbook of sorts and a way to pay tribute to the year-specific viewing I’ve done. It’s also a way of stressing that, while the Top Ten by Year list is the endgame, the process  is what counts. There are takeaways, good and bad, everywhere, and here are some of them.

  1. Your posts always leave me a desire to put a hundred more titles on my list. 😉 I like your method for watching movies and educating yourself on cinema–I think I might adopt something like that for myself. Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment! It really means so much because my hope is to introduce people to movies they otherwise may not have heard of. My Top Ten By Year project is a way of doing that for myself. I got my Bachelor’s in Film Studies but I always felt like I took that education for granted, that I never applied myself to the actual courses. I hope that taking on different years in film helps me see and re-see more as well as allowing me to see what cinema was, at least in a broad sense, at a specific point in time. I hope you had a nice holiday : )
